The starter's solenoid on the 1hz has just bleep itself.

On the pic u see that an insulator washer has broken off, (so the contact actually earth's to the solenoids shaft), and need to replace it, but doesnt look like its a repairable item.

Am I going to have to buy a starter, or solenoid, or where can I find a replacement shaft?

Looks like its just going to be a visit to the wreckers, an expensive visit btw...

Cheers

I had one rebuilt/repaired that was badly corroded after being left in salt water for a few months.
There is a full range of aftermarket parts and even complete starters for these.

A good auto sparky will know where to source the parts.

Hi Ulises
That is the solenoid plunger. You can buy these and it comes with the contact kit, $50 approx.
You can change the plunger with out removing the starter.
But, I would suggest that you remove the stsrter and change the cantacts at the same time.
Easy job, do not strip the starter just remove the cover plate and you can do the whole job from there, just take care that you fit all the washer back in the same place
