Hi Vince . I have 2003 DID have fitted with Ironman Kit , Gives a little lift and reasonable priced. Also have fitted poly air bags. I tow a off road caravan find it good. Make sure you get protection plates if your going to off road with it. Pajdid

Hi Pajdid.
Thanks for the info.
I am looking at a TJM set up as
well as the ironman kit.Would the lift be 2"?
What protection plates have u installed? Are they an aftermarket item or did u make them yourself?
Regards.Vince

I've got the TJM XGS coils with Bilsteins on an NM. Haven't towed with it yet, but I'm 105kg, and standing on the towbar tongue, it drops about 1/2" at the rear. Lift was just under 2" all round.
I opted for HD front springs, and EHD 200kg progressive coils on the rear. Very happy. No bullbar, so I was expecting a firm ride - wife doesn't complain so it can't be that bad! Stiff in the back, so you need to slow down over speedhumps compared to the OEM
suspension, otherwise everything in the back gets rearranged.
I have the TJM sump and transmission bash plates - glad to have them, the NM had a plastic sump guard I partially ripped off on a straightforward rutted track before the lift.

Hi Scubaroo.
I had a look under the paj this morning & it already has bash plates fitted(vehicle is ex Vict. police). It appears that TJM is the way to go. My camper has a ball weight of 140k so I might have to go a little firmer on the rear.
Thanks for your advice.

King springs and Bilstein shocks seem to be the favored combo.

That's what we ended up with. Very happy with the ride (admittedly firmer) either with or without the 200+kg on the bar. Initially tried Polyairs which helped but not much.
Cheers ......... Alan

Hello Mr. Bitchi.
I took your advice & fitted king springs & bilstein shocks. What a difference to the ride.
Did not fit polyairs.

G'day Vince,
Being in NSW you might want to see Simon at 4WAY
suspension in Blacktown, I believe he can put together a spring rate and damper package to suit anyones needs although he doesn't do fitting, the Tough Dog Range is pretty hard to beat for a Quality Engineered product.
