I have dramas with the corrosion on the positive termal of the battery as well as down the side of the battery. The battery is a Supercharge 13 plate seal battery. I always make sure that there is that anti corrosion and contact goo stuff you get from Supercheap. The battery was previously in my Fathers Rodeo and know is in my Terrano. When it was i the Rodeo there was no problems with the battery.
Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions on how I can get this to stop?

Thanks
SantaAus

SantaAus.
Sounds like it is over charging, measure the voltage after the motor has been running for about 30 mins,I.E when you get from the shops leave the motor running and measure the voltage, if it is more than 14.6 you have the problem. Eric.

Is the problem that the Terrano should have one of the new type Calcium batteries and you have fitted one of the older style batteries that requires a lower charging voltage? Check to see if it is the correct type for your vehicle.

Had a similar situation in my Rodeo, positive terminal getting corrosion all the time. I just placed a 2mm peice of polycarbonate cut out to fit over the terminal so the connector to the terminal was not touching the battery with vasoline on the terminal and connector. No more problems.

I had tried with just vasoline and no polycarbonate and still corroded. No corrosion now for over twelve months :). May not be whats the problem is with yours but maybe worth trying if what else has been advised here is not causing the problem.
