Does anyone know if the plastic sapre wheel covers that fit the 265/65x17 tyres on the Prado GXL will also fit the 225/70x17 tyres on the Prado GX
I know that the GXL rims are 7" and the GX rims are 6", but from what I can figure out, the cover should still fit without being to "sloppy"
I have a chance to buy a cover really cheap and was just wondering if anyone else has fitted one to a GX

Cruiser,
I wouldn't buy it unless I could try it on. My Patrol had one on when I bought it. It had foam pads glued inside to make it fit, I thought that I would be able to take them off and it would then fit the new tyres. However, as soon as I went up in tyre size from 265/70 to 265/75 it would not even go close. It is at
Broken Hill tip now 'cause I could not even give it away.

I wouldn't use a spare wheel cover under any circumstances?????? Why not use some good old fashioned tyre black and wheel polish.
A few years ago I had a flat and when I took the spare wheel tyre cover off I was bitten by a red back. That spoilt my holiday for a few days and of cause if your cover has any advertising on you could get fined by the
Perth City Council for advertising without a permit.
