In an earlier post I mentioned cracks in Speedywheel rims. Post ID 42412
I'm now very happy to report that all 5 wheels will be replaced free of charge. I will be paying for the fitting. It was explained to me that sometimes air can get between the alloys in manufacture and on rare occasions cause this problem. The rep did not hesitate to offer an exchange.

I will be recommending Speedywheels to anyone who's in the market for new wheels.

Cheers!

Hi Speak , im glad to hear that your wheels will be replaced , as well they should be ...but i cant understand why you should have to pay for the fitting ????? You have already paid for fitting once when you bought the wheels and its not your fault that the wheels stuffed up....so i would be asking them to pay for fitting as well ..........Cheers .........Dave

Hey Dave,

well actually it was the previous owner who had them fitted, but I take your point.

The odds must be astronomical that five of these wheels all got the dreaded crack/s in them.

Indicates a possible dud batch and if so, there should have been a major recall and fitting of the replacements free,

The rep said that particular model was no longer available. He is replacing our tyres with a current model. I asked if he'd had this problem before and he said rarely.

Oh My I agree with Lucy. If theres a 100% failure rate I would be asking not only for free replacement but also some compensation for the risk their faulty wheels put you and your loved ones at. I am sure they would LOVE some exposure on any of the tabloid shows.

Theyre doing u a favour replacing them, dont be paying for a favour

Speak

To have the verable Bonz agree with me on anything can only mean that I am 1,000,000% right on my analysis of your situation and then to have his 'henchman' Truckster in all affairs 'nissan' on the this forum also corroborate both Bonz and I just increases the odd os being correct to 1,000,000,000%.

Thank you for taking a bi-partisan approach on this one boys.

Honestly Mr Speak, if the supplier is of the opinion that there is 'something nasty' pertaining to the subject wheels, and willingly replaces them, albiet excluding fitting costs, then the smell of 'dead fish' is definitely in the air.

Where, I have no idea, however I am getting strong whiffs everytime I read your 'next' response.

Good luck with whatever it is you decide on, though I must say Truckster has suggested a plan worth considering.

Actually, it was 3 out of the 5 rims. One had 3 cracks, the other 2 had one tiny hairline crack in each. But regardless, I take what all of you are saying on board. I'm happy that a potentially life threatening 'accident' has been averted. Perhaps I should direct the rep to your comments on this website and see what his response is. Thanks for all of your advice.

Cheers!
