I am planning my trip to the gathering in SA. I'm looking at taking a month, joining up with a few others along the way, so have started searching areas on this site that i am looking at passing through. Thats the easy part lol.
The damn problem is there are SOOOOOOOOOO many
places people say MUST see this, go here,
camp at this place, do this lol ............ i'll need 3 months to do it and still havin made the SA / QLD border yet LOL and still searching.
I dare say it will be like the cape trip had no idea what to expect until i went and found a month there was to short (bugger). I want to take sunsets, landscapes and just relax on a good drive and see what we have, not flash past and at the end not really having seen what i past. If you know what i mean.
I guess this is the planning people say is the fun part, and it is, i am learning plenty but still have little idea what i'm going to come up against. I will be tenting it so am looking forward to it.
I hope i'm not alone in this planning thingie i'd hate to be the only one having FUN lol.
Anyway back to planning.
Brian

Yes I think most people think similar to you Brian (I know I do).
I always think that spending as much time as possible in the furtherest part of your itinery makes the most sense. This way if you do drive past a place that takes your fancy, it is not as far to get back to from your
home on the next holiday.
Happy planning and I will see you in croweater territory, come July.
Trevor.

Geez fellas, gangin' up on a fella while he's away and can't defend himself, haha.
Have sent a carrier pidgeon to the poor bugger so's he least has a fighting chance at defendending himself :-))
BTW Brian, I think Trevs "tent" consists of a mattress in the back of the wagon, and he may very
well try to entice you with a beer, but as for sharing his "tent" prolly not a good idea, I've seen him after dark...... not a pretty sight :-)))
May very
well see you both in July.
Pezza

Well i guess by night fall I best be two parts to the wing near lights out, that way trevor can look anyway he pleases :).
As for the tent I'll be in my own ........... I know us Qlders must stick together ........but thats a tad to social LOL.

Hey, all you buggers stabbing me in the back better be careful or I may just take the Blizzard and make you all follow me at 80kph all the way.
As for the tent........nah not my style. If the better half is up to it and decides to come along, it will be caravn in tow, otherwise, like Pezza said, my matress is in the back of the Nissan and no setting up
camp will be required. You will have no chance of getting me to set yours up either Brian, that would cut into my "social time" too much LOL!!!!
Now I have armour on you all can go back to stabbing away. Thanks for the heads up Pezza. Regards to all as always, Trevor.

Well done Pezza ............. you found him. Now the blizzard hmmmmmmm that would be interesting.
As for the tent as long as there is a spot for 4 pegs my tent will be up in a flash. Would like to stay in the back of the ute but prefer a tent, mainly because I will have fuel in the back and not keen on sleeping with that stuff.
I'm sure my social time will not be impeded by erecting my tent :). So keep them beers very close, cold and we can down a few and meet these mexicans :).
