Hi guys and gals. Was wondering if anyone can tell me about putting my 80 series diesel on gas. Local diesel mech (who it must be said is a modern wonder with anything diesel) has told me he is getting his ticket to fit gas systems to diesel trucks/4by's. Quotes a 40% power increase and says instalation is fairly straight forward. Straight into inlet manifold, microswitch to accelorator. Anyone actually had it done?? Appreciate any tips. Cheers Wazza

Why don't you try a
forum search. Just insert the words - Diesel Gas - and you'll find that there are heaps of entries relating to this subject. It's been discussed many times in the past. Good luck with it.

Cheers DIO, tried that but hard to sift through all the index as no headings available. Have to click on every one to see whats in it. Did manage to find one though that was a bit helpfull. Cheers

Had diesel gas fitted to my 80 series with stock 1hz NA. 150K on the clock. More around 15-20% power increase. Google dieselgas. Worth it for us in WA as it costs around $4K and we get back $3K back in rebates. Hope this helps.

Hi Matt,
How did it all go? Are you pleased with the results, installation etc? Is 15 to 20% very noticable?

Carpenter in WA gives us another $1k on top of Howards $2. Reasonably happly with it. Power is definatly noticeable in third and fourth when overtaking. Currently getting extractors and 2 1/2 system fitted so hopefully that will help. Any questions email me on mattdanica@aapt.net.au
