Thinking of going to Lucky Bay near Kalbarri this easter with about 6 other vehicles. Anyone been there lately and know if you are still allowed access to beach?

Was in Kalbarri in October and access was no problems. Don't forget your sand board.

Gday Yeti

That part of the coast blows it's guts out right though summer and way past Easter so be prepared with star picket tent pegs and enjoying munching on sand crunchy food if you are planning to camp.

Stay away from the shacks. Some interesting owners including the Coffin Cheaters.

The other Lucky Bay east of Esperance or Ningaloo may be much nicer.

We were up at Kalbarri in January and tried to find the track in to Lucky Bay, but without success. If you know where to go I reckon you would have no problems getting in there- we just didn't have enough time to explore adequately. Didn't look like there was anything to block access, and the sandboarding safaris from Kalbarri appear to still be going there.

Thanks Mikey,
I haven't been before but one of our group has. Apparently it may be windy but wot the hell, if it dries our throats out we will think of something to fix that
If you want to know way in I'll put on GPS and can send to you after

That would be good, Yeti. We did end up amongst the fishing shacks at what I think is Sandlewood Bay, which should be only a few k's south of Lucky Bay. It's a bit creepy there, so I'd believe it if someone said the Coffin Cheaters had shacks there. But they probably just like fishing and isolation like the rest of us. Check out GoogleEarth and you can see Lucky Bay, with some boats in the lagoon and what appear to be 4x4 tracks. Unfortunately there isn't good definition of the tracks to get in from the south.
