Finally got the moving map thingo working with the natmap 250k. Thanks to advice from people on here. it took me a while to figure out exactly how it worked as i played with that much stuff. There is a setting in the sytems menu for the etrexwhich has to be set to nmea out. However it has to be set back to garmin to download waypoints, tracks

The best way to get the map moving is throw it across the room , though it will stop when it hits the wall

Hi Davoe

If you dont want to change back and forth between NMEA and Garmin modes on the Etrex, you can go into OziExplorer configuration and on the COM tab place a tick in the "Use PVT for Garmin instead of NMEA". Change the Etrex to "Garmin" mode and then it will work in moving map and be able to upload and download waypoints, routes etc.

This might be easier than swapping between the two all the time. I know my Etrex will work and do both in this mode. This might save the hassle of changing all the time. OziExplorer will inform you if it wont work. More details available in the OziExplorer Help file if you search for "PVT Garmin".

Cheers
