They just said on the radio due to the fact that someone farted in the general direction of the sun, fuel will go up 14cents today..

Why just cause some bleep ed up country decides they wanna play war, the world bleep s their pants and fuel goes through the roof? Maybe it is time to wipe these countries off the map so the rest can live normally.

Obviously it is all on a whim. Here it is the EXACT opposite (well today anyway). I'm not holding my breath!
I live in Wellington, New Zealand.
Yesterday filled the tank (diesel) 99.5c/l
This morning drove past the same fuel stop - 94.5c/l
*F#$%@#$@#

just got through reading the AGE on line. One of the lead stories is the big downturn in the Chinese stock market which has had negative impact on the world's other markets. So stock prices falling and no rise in oil prices as a result and weakening Aus dollar. Oil companies used to claim pump price increases were due to crude oil increases and chinese demand - go figure!

Cashing in on the long weekend....Never!

I believe the baggage handlers call strikes before christmas each year for safety issues too.

yep.........long weekend coming up but I can guarantee you that the servo's on the Hume Hwy at Somerton wont go up. They are always about 10-12cpl cheaper.

As I said before if we boycotted one company at the time they soon wake up........somebody who has nothing to do with any oil companies will reply to this message ( and that happens every time somebody says anything like that) and tell us what a stupid idea that is and it wont work.
Offcourse it would work. Would love to see all Shell being deserted for a couple of weeks what that does. We are the ones driving to the Petrol stations and give them our money.

Only problem for me with this idea, and I think it is a good concept is that it will also hurt private stations that have no more say on fuel prices than us. Perhaps a list of company owned sites to be avoided would fix this?

Reiner G & Whyallacookie,
True about possibly hurting the station operator. But, they still make alot with thier $2.20 can of Coke which they would easily make $1.90 profit on. Petrol is cheap..........it's the tax on top of it that makes it expensive............The government is where the frustration must be directed.

Truckster,
Still at 115.5 lt for the oily stuff at Gladstone in CQ. Been that way for weeks. 100 odd K's inland at Bilo it is 4 cents lt cheaper. Gladstone is the supply base for most of CQ. But give them a chance and she will go up.
Cheers,
Bros.
