Hi all, I just bought my first 4x4, a 98 Jackaroo so I'm pretty excited.
One thing I was hoping someone could help me with is an approximate cost of spray on rustproffing. I've seen prices for electronic rustproofing, and I'm going on
the beach, but probably only once a year, and I wanted to get a rough idea of other options and weigh up the costs and benifits.
Any comments?

I think you will find that there is rustproofing on the underbody, you can't rustproof
the springs etc...Best way to deal with the areas you think may need some additional rust resistance is to buy either some of the Lanotec ( ever see a rusty sheep?) or you can buy aerosols of fish oil ( once again, ever see a rusty fish) it dries to a flexible film and is quite invasive into crevices where rust may start. You would be advised to clean any surface throughly before applying anything...

well you really only need to worry about the chassis, the jacks have a double gal dipped body from the factory so rarely suffer body corrosion. The lanolin products are no doubt the nicest smelling product to use..
ps - welcome to the great world of isuzu gear :-))
