Hello everyone,
Is there a public access track that leads from
Broken Hill,
Silverton, then basically along the NSW -
SA border heading north? I have a Hema map with tracks labelled UR4 and UR5 etc but I am not sure what these labels mean.

TYou have not specified a destination so it is a touch difficult to provide any guidance but to
check with the various property owners and/or the tourism coordinators in
Broken Hill. There was a couple of public roads several years back but they have been resumed an are now station tracks. Particularly anything heading towards the
Flinders Ranges.
If you can identify where you want to start and finish that would help
Regards

The track following the fence is for the
Dog fence repair crews and your not allowed to use them without permission, to many head on accidents in the past I think, but nth of Border Downs, from memory, above
Silverton, the public road does follow the fence for a while, then across to
Milparinka.
Its a good run out through there. We last did it in April 05, and went to
Tibooburra then across to Camerons Corner then across the back way to Nocundra.
Hope this helps.
Cheers Pesty

As Pesty said, not a problem B/
Hill,
Silverton, Border Downs,
Hawker Gate, then must turn East to
Milparinka. We took the camper trailer & it was easy peasy (but wouldn't be in the wet). Eldee Station North of
Silverton has farmstay & I think camping, but have not tried it. Do a Google or something on it as I believe there is a website. We did stay at
Theldarpa Station West of
Milparinka & they have shearers rooms or put the CT down by the creek & can use the shearers showers, very cheap, lovely people, they hand out an envelope containinmg info. about the area. We visited
Depot Glen historical site on way from
Theldarpa to
Milparinka, spent about an hour there and visiting Mt Poole nearby. Enjoy!
