Keep the old one. So Pajman Pete it is for some time to come.

Thanks for all those who responded to my request for advice on getting a new 4by. All you feedback was very useful. We decided that a 4.2 turbo diesel Nissan 'Troll was the way to go but after doing all the sums decided that the Heritage Listed Paj needs to run for about another 18 months.

The old girl was worth almost nothing 2nd hand and is still going strong after a heart transplant 50,000 km ago. In 2 years time we will be able to buy for retirement and still clear the lease before pulling the pin.

So if you see the black monster on the road toot and wave. There is an ExplorOz sticker on the back and when I get around to it the windscreen transfer will go up on the front.

Cheers

Pete

Pete

Wise move. One could get carried away with all the lovely new vehicles around but in the end they depreciate so much that it is best to hang on to the oldie for as long as you can.

When you are ready for a newbie you can still run the Oldie or pass it on to child or friend

Cheers

Thanks Willem,

There is a certain affection for the old girl as well. She has taken us to some great places.

I get sideways looks all the time in my NG.

I get right payed out in the Vic High Country.

I get sniggered at in the Simpson.

I don't care.

I am there living it and loving it.

As I pass them in the bogs, I just take an extra 10 minutes to take the necesary photos

Yep me too Pete I was going to get the last of the 4.2td Patrols but after having a good look at one they look too p++fy so I also have decided to keep the 4.2 GU that I have going for another 8 years as it is nearly 8 now.
