G- Day

Has any body heard of problems with 2006 Nissan Navara ST-R Turbo Diesels,
Ours has just developed a Rattle Noise in the front of the motor, I heard this
noise as we pulled into our driveway, after a 250 kilometer trip yesterday.

I phoned Nissan 24hr Road Side Assist which turned out to be the R.A.C.Q.
they sent a service man out this morning, he reckons it is the timing chain.
NOT BAD FOR A VEHICLE WITH 8000KS ON THE CLOCK, ONLY FOUR MONTHS
OLD. and we nurse this truck like our proud & joy.
Truck comming tomorrow to take it to Nissan Dealers Workshop for inspection.
We thought by purchasing a brand new vehicle we would have no problems
for our up and comming trips. MAKES YOU WONDER.

Cheers
Daza.

Got an 03 Navara with the 3.0 TD motor, been up the desert a couple of times. When we get back, I go around it and eliminate all the rattles, some are east, some are harder, but eventually I win.

Have you been under it and just thumped it, with a closed hand, where you think the noise is coming from ?
Works for me !

Hardest ones to find was a loose inner guard, found near rhe bottom front door hinge, ( stopped with a small piece of clear plastic tube ), and another was the stone guard on the fuel tank, as there was a small verticle piece that would rattle on the fuel tank itself.

Good luck ,, and let me know what / where it was !
