A little while agowe discussed AVGAS (Post 31155). Have just finished telephone call with Warakurna RH. ULP now not available there - AVGAS is however. ULP now only available Yalara and Tjukayiria RH (794kms my figure). Apparently the perceived wisdom is that coktailing AVGAS with ULP in tank is the way to go. I would be interested to read of anybody bold enough to try this whilst in transit.

Mike,
did gunbarrel last july in a petrol 80 series. Had to take on avgas at Giles and at
Warburton. Ran a 50/50 avgas /ulp mix . truck ran like a dream , no noticable difference in normal temp range. fuel economy unchanged.
in fact I was that impressed I carried last 20 litre jerry can
home to give the system a bit of a flush out as i think it may have cleaned up the injectors a bit.
Truck has done 20,000km since with no ill effects .
I would have no hesitation using the mix again.
safe touring
Howard

Hi guys,
I believe that ULP has been banned on the
Great Central Road ONLY.
I gather this was because of problems with people sniffing ULP, whereas diesel and AvGas is not giving people the same high, so they dont try to pinch it from servo's or cars.
From all accounts this is working so i would imagine it will continue indefinately.Looking for a holiday in the beautiful South West (WA)? visit www.whalerscove.net
