Hi there Peter
I posted this info on the Jayco site about a month ago. It covers pretty much what you are looking for.
"I have twin 4" Papst fans on a small frame that I can clip onto the outside of the fridge vent in hot weather. They are 12v 420mA 5W each and I run them off a small solar panel (about 400mm X 250mm) that I put on the roof of the van. So when I need them most during the day they are purring away thanks to the independent power supply. Hope this is of some help to you."

cheers

Thanks Chris,
where do I find the Jayco site you are talking about. And what you have done very much sounds like just what I want. Thanks a million.

Gidday Peter,

I too have a Jayco and what I did was purchased a 12v fan that ran off a transformer that is plugged permanently into the 240v system of the van. I fixed the fan onto the inside of the bottom vent of the fridge at a 45 dgree angle so the air drawn in the bottom and then forced up to the top vent.
When we pull up to caravan park site, we plug into 240v and away she goes. I also have a isolation switch inside the van that I can use to turn the fan off on those cooler days. Hasnt skipped a beat.
You do notice the difference on those warm days.

Hope it helps

Mick
