I see mazda are selling the new bt50 diesel freestyle cab with tray and air for $32990,thats a big saving on a space cab lux.Triton don't do an extra space cab I thought?

The Landcruiser TD traytops are commanding a high price at the SA govt auctions despite the new model about to come out. Lately theres been some with almost 100,000k going for over $40k. Can't buy new at present.

Troyza,
I've had a 1992 Rodeo for about 9 years. This is the same body and chassis as the 02 model except for a couple of cosmetic changes. The only modification I have made was to put higher profile tyres on it which gave me almost an extra inch of ground clearance. I'm in a fishing club where most of the members have Cruisers and Patrols, but where ever they go I go with no problems. The beaches we fish on are very rugged and the tracks that go to them are even worse. I very rarely scrape the bottom of the Rodeo and have never been hung up or bogged. Also I'm usally towing a camper trailer through these tracks. I'm not saying that a rodeo is up there with the big guns, but at the end of the day it won't be far behind them. I bought an 02 single cab Rodeo with the 3lt inter cooled td about a week ago to take the place of my ageing 4wd but I haven't had the chance to put it through it's paces yet. I'll be interested to see the difference the diesel makes to the old 2.6lt petrol in my old Rodeo.
Steve

Troyza, I'd be gutless if I didn't reply, wouldn't I?
And mad if I did.
Our '02 space cab has been around: at times wash-aways need repair, and sometimes I just back off.
I'm certainly no hairy-chested cowboy, but clearance is rarely a problem.
Depends how you intend to use it. Good luck. Jeff.
