Hi all.
Can anyone offer suggestions to remedy a stiff gear shift in my GQ Patrol?
Each gear change takes a moment or two before the stick 'slides' in to the selected gear.
What could be the cause of this and how can it be fixed???
Thanks
Neilo

Hi mate,
I'd say more than likely the wrong grade of oil, especially if it is worse when cold.

Along the same lines as your gear shift dilemma is a drama I had with my Hi-Lo range shift.... under the car on the transfer case is a rubber boot over a knuckle joint.... the joint on
mine got considerably gunked up from being wet and made the shift hard to move..... I now keep in lubed!
Cheers

Hmmm, a mechanic recently told me that my clutch is on its way out, based on a worn out boot. Im going to get oil changed next week, hopefuly it will save me a grand or so for a new clutch!!

could be dirt that has got in through the protective boots which might have perished.
