For those of us who enjoyed the tv programme "Are you being served", just heard on the news that John Inman died after a long illness. It is sad news for me as I am a fan of the show and I think that he made the show. A very clever actor.
R.I.P. John Inman.

Yes DW, a very cheeky lad.
Still enjoy the genre.
Some things the Poms continue to do well, (from Spike M and earlier), through John C to the present crop of maniacs.

R.I.P. John Inman, knowing that those who follow continue to provide (some of) us with brief escape from our individual demons. Jeff H.

Larry Sanders and seinfeld are as funny as cancer. specially seinfeld, Every single thing he did was predictable and been done, 'I'll run it again'.

Only watched it 2-3 times when forced to at others places.

Even the worst UK comedy bleep es all over both of these...

YMMV

I'm a M.A.S.H. fan through and through, but for mine the Brits are the absolute best at comedy!!!! From Python through to Little Britain!

Loved the show. The Poms could sure make decent comedy.

Sat through a "Are you being Served" marathon , a few months back.

Very Sad... Yep he was a great actor, took "camp" to a very honest level...
I loved "Are you being served" Mrs Slocombes pussy always needed attention...
Thes some other classics like "It aint half hot MUM" with Windsor Davies & Don Estelle... & "Dads Army", I know & worked with quite a few Captain Mainwarrings in my time...Odd all the actors in Dads Army were apparently gay with the exeption of the guy who played Private Godfrey who is now 100 and had a birthday not long ago...
Classic Comedy...

Private Godfrey turned 100 not so long ago?? Had a party? What was it a ghosts and ghouls party?

Wow, pretty good, Arnold Ridley died in 1984

Do you mean Pikey? Ian Lavender? he isnt anywhere near 100. hes younger than Willem! But Clive Dunn, Mr Jones, is coming up to his 100th in 2020...

All the actors in Dads army were gay?? ROTFLMAO! Um no they werent.. FFS, I think your dreaming of Mrs Slocombes pussy.. Maybe you have it mixed up with Brokeback mtn lmao

Still, never found out what was in the box on that mrs slocombe was given in the last episode as the credits ran...

Windsor Davies was an extremely talented actor.

"I'm frrreeee!"

No matter how many times you watch it, it was a funny show. John Inman worked in many theatre productions after that show, and always seemed to take the mickey out of himself.

A sad loss.
