Hi All,
I'm interested in touring a little of Victoria. I will be starting out at Queencliffe on
Easter Monday and would like to get the most out of the Great Ocean Road before heading North through
Ballarat and
Bendigo and back to
Canberra. Time is a little short as I will only have five days touring and would like to arrive back in
Canberra on the sixth day. I'm quite prepared for an 8-10 hour drive on the sixth day to get
home if need be.
I look forward to your advice and hints.

Victoria is little. But with 5 days you will only see a little of it. On the great ocean road make sure you take time to see the
Otways.
The
Grampians is worth a visit. You will not have time. I suggest later on you plan another trip and visit the
Grampians.

If your camping I recommend Johanna's beach just west of the
Otways

I agree with Kumunara.
If you only have five days touring spend it having a decent look at the Great Ocean Road and the
Otways, (got to get there one day) and then head back to
Canberra.
Canberra, can't imagine being in a hurry to get there. But if it's
home

More a shot at the transient work force who gather on that
hill in the centre of town.
I have had a variety of experiences in
Canberra, some good, some bad. No failed love affair.......that I can think of.

CKJ, it is nice of the interstaters to give the endorsements to the Great Ocean Road. The Johanna Beach camping ground is nice but so it Blanket Bay which is not too far from there but over
Easter those
places will be tight for room. It depends what you would like to see along the GOR, what formations and that sort of thing. I would suggest as far through as West of
Peterborough and the Bay of Islands and you can still do that and head towards the
Grampians as suggested above. Warrnambool may be another nice place to stop along the way on night two.
It all depends a bit on how much time you wish to stay in
Ballarat and
Bendigo too. They have good, interesting attractions each in their own right. You could really do that loop in four days if you wanted to with the 8-10 hours on the last day.

John & Moses,
Thanks. I'll take a good look at the route and see how we go.
Cheers

Moses tends not to say anything much Craig, just pulls the gear I ask. ;-)
