Hi Everyone
A few months ago I read a review on a camping website about a
farm stay camping ground about 1.5 hours drive north west drive of
Brisbane.
It was reasonably priced and you could get involved with
farm activities. It wasn't one of those expensive
farm stay
places. You could bring tents. It just seemed like a great place for the kids.
Does anyone know what I am talking about please!!!
I've spent the last two hours searching google and my bookmarks and can't find quite find the right one.
My neighbour and I are planning on going camping both weekends of the june/july school holidays and we thought this could be one of the
places we go. Any other suggestions are welcome. I'm a bit worried as I think camping that time of year will be very cold. We want something within two hours drive from
Brisbane, so not very far away.
Thanks in advance

I don't really know, but have a feeling it could be in the Kenilworth area. We went for a drive one day and there was a similar thing there. All I can remember is they had campsites, right on a river and a
home made water slide........does this sound familiar?

Thanks for responding, but no. It was a lot further south than Kenilworth. I remember looking up where it was on a mapmaker type website and it was only 1.5 hours from Birkdale (where I live, in the Redlands/Bay area of
Brisbane). So not very far north or west at all.

Hi Violetmay -
There is one at Murphys Creek near Gatton, specifically for families with small children - feed the chooks, pigs, goats & milk the cow. You can pitch a tent or van down the paddock beside the (dry) creek. Called Six Mile country - phn 4630 3351
Just north of Dayboro is Brockhurst Cabins. Not sure about camping. www.users.bigpond.com/brockhurstcabins/
In the same area is Trevena Glen
Farm www.trevenaglenfarm.com.au/
Also, perhaps post 42988 would be of interest to you.
On the main
forum page, on the top left, is a box with 'find post' written above it.
Simply put the number 42988 in the box and press enter.
While not
farm stays, it lists many very nice campsites near
Brisbane..............Keith

Hi,
Try this one - www.landcruisermountainpark.com.au/
It's a privately owned cattle property about 1.5 hrs out of
Brisbane. You can
camp anywhere on the property apparently. Haven't been myself but friends said it was good.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. None of them are place I remembered. We will end up going to one of these
places instead I'm sure, they all look great too.
I was given two free tents last year and in both of them the fly covers over the tent 100% fiting perfectly over the tent, not like the fly on my tent which spreads out a bit and leaves about 2 feet all around the bottom of then tent with no covering. I figured these two free tents were more winter tents as they would be much warmer in winter (ie unusable in summer). So I will take those two tents when I go.
Thanks so much :-)
