Planning on going to Innaminka-
Coongie Lakes in April. When you buy a Desert Parks Pass is it dated from day of purchase or can you give a date when you will be there. Would like to purchase sooner so can
check out all information that they give you with pass.

I've been up there quite a few times - staying, and in transit to BV etc - could always buy the pass while there - presume they still do that. As mentioned above, they run from date of purchase - for the $, you also get some nice Westprint maps, which have a lot of historic and other information on the back. Available from the trading post or at the park
ranger's office - buying that way, if you don't make it due to rain or whatever, you haven't done your $. Suggest you phone them first to make sure they have them in stock.

A good idea to have a read before you go. So much info in
the Desert Park Pass as
well as the maps.

I spoke to the trading post yesterday at Innaminka & the causeway has be ok for about a week, but they are expecting another lot of water coming down soon.
The roads into
Birdsville have only been open for about 10 days, according to a guy from the pub.
Also heading out that way in school holidays to cross the simpson, not looking good
