This is just an idea but i have seen this on other sites and it seems like a nice touch.
When we leave questions or replies we could rack up a number next to our name each time which works consecutively to show how many posts we have made in our time here.
Adding to that, it could give us a title also,,,, such as if we have left between 0 & 20 posts/replies we could be called uummm,,, traveller,, 21 to 40 posts/replies,, tourer,, which would work its way up through the ranks... Maybe make our way to an Adventurer which would take ages..I dunno,, just a thought....
Come-on everyone,, back me up or bag me... Ave a lovely day.._____________________________________________

i have also found this on anouther site never been there before & found it left me feeling a little intimidated when it came to posting becauce of the vast differance between my post & many of the others ithink it may just frighten new people away from posting just my thoughts how do others feel

You also end up with people just posting crap to get more hits....

Id like to see a Multi Word Search Function instead of just one word.. Tried to search for something just now, and couldnt find it....

David??

And maybe an EDIT function... ;)~

Space char is the sep and it will find all occurances of the two words within one post not the entire thread. So insurance nrma would need to be in any single post item. If you try insurance nrma you will find this thread I hope. Let me know.Regards

Voxson,

I love ideas from the members and this one I have thought about before however, for exactly Bruce's reason I have not done it. Understand that it is not that hard for me to implement it is just that I do not want to turn off newcommers from posting.

I have seen these things on other sites and I feel a little upset that I may only be a uuummmmm user.

Open to input, and keep the ideas flowing. Also remember you can email me enchancement ideas directly if you want. (david@exploroz.com)Regards

This is an informative site, some of the others are good also but u spend a lot of time sorting through 1 word or 1 line chit chat

I'm not into this bit about pidgon holeing and alitiest groups. Let's just stick to the business of talking trips and trucks and forget the quedos bit.
I'd be more interested in seeing more site users doing the right thing by supporting David and Michelle and pay the fee [they] ask but never insist on, this is such a great site I'd hate to see it go under because of the free loaders.
The greatest buzz I get is to see MEMBER - come up in front of my name when I log on.

Hi Member Cocka (?)
Not all members have member in the title. i.e. Voxson
Not all members have Rigs photo's
What I do like to see is more people adding the (state or area) they are from or Bruce h. etc

Yer Cocka its a tickle to see the word Member there.

I joined up after gleaning lots of info and wanting to contribute to the running of the place - I believe you get out many times what you put in.

Just got my member card and sticker today and will proudly exhibit the EXPLOROZ membershipo up North over the coming weeks

All the best!________________________________>

You blokes have me confused now. I'm not sure if my Member should be in front of Cocka, or Cocka in front of my Member.
I have heard them all before so don't get smart, I'm proud of my nickname and the girls love me too. I'll tell you all about it one day.

However the issue is titles and what helps the site to function.
I don't see any problem having a member classification that shows your site name as a member or registered visitor or welcome visitor etc, you at least know to whom you are talking. You get the classification when you log in or visit.
I also like the idea of showing your town/city with site nickname. It sure helps to know where some of the dudes live at times.

I agree it could be intimidating to a new user and may just sit back and not contribute.
Also as Truckster said you have those that post pointless dribble
(and lots of it) to score more points like its a game or something.

And have the site become a clone of the overland ??? which has as in the words of the bard " much ado about nought ". Perish the thought.
