Mind you - the Winnebago / Grey Nomad crowd would probably get their rocks off on this one...

Yep, you're probably right mate.......the ol' bloke will buy one for the Winnebago's roof so he can buy himself a few hours of peace and quiet everyday, while the ol' girl sits in the back watching the soaps and Opra Winifred (or whatever the silly cow's name is) etc etc.

For some poor ol' buggas it'll be money well spent...hahahaha

What's wrong with the Winnebago / Grey Nomad crowd ? Is it something I've missed ! Seems to me that they are people who have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labours in their twilight years. (I'm sure that there are many Winnebago owners who would also take offence at your statement.) I understand that the 'grey nomads' can make a significant difference to the economy with their disposable cash reserves. Be careful, you might be one - one day.

And ...... let me point out ,

[as a card-carrying Grey Nomad, minus the Winnebago!]

You can be either as old as a Grey Nomad ............. or D E A D !!!

Your choice ??????

As owning a Winnebago was their choice .....

Whoa up there you blokes........I was speaking tongue in cheek......sheeeesh, sensitive , or what!!!!

I am already a grey nomad (well, I'm totally grey and we travel a helluva lot, so I guess I'm a nomad too....haha).

I was just picturing a bloke in his 70's who has to "put up with" his missus sounding-off in his left ear all day while he drives the Winni' all over the countryside. Oh, what the hell, I'm only diggin myself further into the same hole if you blokes have no sense of humour, eh?

Aaah, Roachie, don't stress about it mate. I AM a grey nomad and I do suffer "from GBH of the earhole" from SWMBO on occasions. Yakkity, yakkity, yahdah, yahdah,,,,,,,,,,,,,stupid remark, illogical comment,,,,,,,,,,yakkity, yakkity,,,,,,,.

But even that wouldn't make me buy a TV. Plus SWMBO hates soaps 'n all the Oprah stuff.

But I do have a secret weapon - I'm deaf in both ears and I wear a hearing aid in both ears!!

It is impossible to tell from looking at 'em whether they are switched on or not and guess what,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he, he,,,,,,,,,,,sometimes I don't switch 'em on!! He,he,,,

Don't you tell 'er.

And stop offending people,,,,,,,,,,,,you're a banker for God's Sake, isn't that enough,,,,,,,,,,,,

And that would be why Qld has just made it illegal ,3points and a $225 fine to have a " video/ tv / dvd" screen visable from the drivers seat, who said we are not the smart state ???? as per our no plates ?? LOL.

I wonder what their reaction is to having a rear-view camera showing what is behind the rig in situations where there is no internal mirror or it is rendered useless due to loading/s or van or trailer etc.

I know we are supposed to have them wired so they only work when vehicle is in reverse gear, but that removes the usefullness of having this device to see what is happening the rest of the time too.

Bilbo - I'm with you.
David - have you considered including a section on the home page for recommended reading? Not a 'shop' category, but perhaps under 'Topics'.
Only allow books that the person rates as 5/5 , and say a 2 line description. That feature would create a list of books of the highest caliber, and we ALL take a few books along to read on our travels - surely.......Keith (moderator alert sent).

Keith,

Good idea. I have thought of a reader rating system for shop products and will be sure to include this in the next round of software updates to the shop system. Thanks.

No - but you can read NEWSPAPERS whilst driving,,,,,,,,,,,,

A long time ago, when The Shire was running the last of the great turbo F1 races in Adelaide - 1985 to be precise, we crossed the Nullabor in a SWB Nissan Patrol with a camper trailer. We did about 3 overnighters from memory. One morning we didn't sleep in and we had a quick brekky and hit the road. The two lads were only young back then and they fell back to sleep in the back almost immediately. It was cool, slightly misty early morning with not a car or truck in sight and I had a newspaper that I bought in Kal but hadn't finished. So out with the paper and a paragraph at a time, I had it read within an hour or two!!

So it can be done,,,,,,,,,might not be legal but it can be done.

Back in the old days, I used to see truckies doing it all the time. Not the same today though. Too hard to make a quid in trucking these days. I wouldn't do it these days either - too many maniacs around. Some of even read newespapers whilst they're driving!!

Bilbo - "The speed reading hobbit"

I like that,"The speed reading hobbit" !! Get it?? SPEED reading? SPEED? Oh shut up Bilbo,,,,,,,,,,
