I have had word that Roachie( Forum Member and aspiring Grey Nomad...lol ) has had successful remedial work done to his chassis (body frame) and is recovering at an undisclosed address in the Big Smoke(Adelaide).

Word has it also that when he returns home, he has been ordered to take it easy for a while and is to spend minimal time in front of the computer. We shall see!!

Good luck Bill. We all hope that your aches and pains will now be things of the past.

Cheers

Looks like things to come for me as well.

I am just trying to work out how to type and still see the screen while flat on my back. I may have to invest in a lap top.

Hope Roachie recovers well and is better than when he went in for the reco on his chassis

Given Roachies' obsession with gadgets I am a little concerned that he may have taken the opportunity to get a few accessories installed while he was in the shop. Built in GPS, network links, electronic keys, working mobile phone tattoos are only the tip of the iceberg of possibilities!

“Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first bionic man. Roachie will be that man. Better than he was before. Better…stronger…faster.”

All the best Roachie and hope you are back on your feet soon.

Cheers

Excuse my ignorance but I had no idea Roachie had done any frame work and panel damage to himself. But if the panel beaters have beaten the chite out of him and he is all brand new then best have some time to rest, let the paint work settle...
How long is he 'resting' for? not long enough to start giving him ideas of what he can add to the hospital bed?
Get up and about soon Roachie, there are things to be bought, added, fitted and drunk..
Cheers
Jo

Didn't know he was damaged, I know he had been whining about the heavy tyres and the like but wasn't aware it was a hospital stay kind of problem.

Get well soon Bill we need you here as a first line of defence against those other vehicles - you know.

Kind regards

All the best Roachie. I'd better come clean now, the surgeon is a mate of mine and a fellow Toyota driver. Guess what, You have been refitted with geniune Toyota parts and you now have an extended life warranty on all the work that was done.
To go with your image, I'll make a special once only deal with you. I'll sell you the 50 for the bargain price of $99,999.00
I hope to see you up and about real soon.
Cheers
Des.

"6 million $$$$$ Roachie.................."

That would still be less than he's spent trying to fix cooling problems with the 4.2TD. :)

Willem, Let Mr Roach know we are behind his quick recovery and wish him all the best with all that getting better stuff. Also send Annette some flowers she will need some serenity having him home but not under the bonnet of the Patrol.

I'd like to give you all a BIG thankyou for your kind wishes.Bill went into hospital yesterday to have a microdiscectomy done.Which means he has had some pieces of a broken disc removed from his back. These were sitting on his siatic nerve and causing numbness in his lower right leg as well as causing lower back pain.
He has been told to take it easy for the next six weeks,so I guess he wont be workin on the chev for a while.
Anyway he is feeling great and looks all the better for it too.He is hoping to be discharged tomorrow. Thanks again to you all for your kind words,
Regards Annette.

Annette, ,our thoughts and best wishes are with you and Bill, we didnt realise it was so small but why oh why does he has to have it removed? I have never heard of a Microdicsectomy but it must really hurt. We all hope he is having it replaced with a macrodic, a 6.5l V8 one. xxxx Bonz and Family and forum et al

Talked to Raochie last night for a while and he is in good spirit.
His main concern is the pusbucket which is at the repairers again and with so much to do, it wont be finished today if he is released from hospital.
Oh well I guess we will work something out for him.
He is pretty pleased about getting the Macro too Bonz, cant wait to put it to, hard, work!

Cheers Pesty

Thanks Pesty,
PB2 is still in Adelaide, but I'm back in Kadina!!!! GGGGRRRRRRRRRRR
I left PB2 with a bloke for a bit of suspension "tweaking".....(ie: new coils, shocks, castor plates, adj panhards and longer brake lines). This bloke has 3 hoists in his shop. He tried the 3T hoist and it blew a fuse. So, he moved the Chevvy to the 3.5T hoist; groan!!!! Luckily the 4T hoist was able to defy gravity. However, the rear springs (4" ordered) were not up to the task, so 6" are on their way from Sidenee, together with the proper front Panhard rod....as they'd sent a damn LoLux unit and then wondered why the steering dampner would not bolt-up!!!

Anyway, let's just say it's been a comedy of errors (on their part)....the blokes are sooooo apologetic. I told them on the phone when I arranged all this that she is a heavy little beasty, but I think they thought I was joking.

Tomorrow, I'm back off the Adelaide with PB1 (That's Pussbucket # 1 aka Nissan Patrol 4.2TD which I've owned since it was new). I'm due to meet a family at the airport at 0900. They are flying in from Melbourne with Bank Cheque in hand to purchase my "old faithfull". Could be a couple of tears flow as I hand the keys over. hahahahaha

As Annette said earlier.....thanks to you all for your kind wishes to get well. I'm still looking forward to Warraweena in July.

Cheers

Roachie

Having been away at a stage this week I missed the post and have only seen reference tonight so I can say that I am pleased the chassis bumps are straightened out well.

I only hope that Annette knows where the spare key is kept for I guess the sun don't shine there.

Speedy recovery Roachie, be good to see the oiler engine pushing ahead again. Just make sure all the recoceries are forward. Don't worry about the non-genuine Nissan parts referred to by Des Lexic, they are really just mods. Take care mate.
