A group of us are planning a trip to the
Carnarvon Ranges (West of
Wiluna in WA) in July. Does anyone have any information, comments, tips, GPS coords or photos of the area. Cheers Macka

Great place.
We went in from
Well 5 after coming down the CSR from Durba and the Calverts.
The roads are easy and there is some good art at the Ra. We also took a drive up to the northern part of the Ra. We camped on the Western edge of the Ra.
We exited out to the Hwy through Neds
Creek Stn.
The trip was in 2002.

Named by Sir John
Forrest 27 May 1874 on his expedition to the east.
"After the right Honourable the present Secretary of the State for the Colonies"
My map says it is north of
Wiluna though.

Western 4WDriver 61st edition (Summer 2006-7) had a great article by Phil Bianchi over 7 or 8 pages complete with maps, photos & references to useful books etc. it's still available from their website (www.western4wdriver.com.au) for $6.95 or in most newsagencies in WA.
cheers, PaulB
