At long last I've removed the spare from under the rear floor of my Series 80.
I plan to use the new space for a water tank (and maybe a compressed air reservoir).
I'm told a water tank is available off the shelf from somewhere.
Any clues anyone?
Thanks

Try longrangeautomotive or call your local ARB store.

Hi Doug

Try the caravan supply places, their is a lot of different plastic ones that fit and are a lot cheaper than the custom made ones, lighter than stainless. If you are worried about hitting it just build a guard under it, but you can get it up pretty high if you remove the bits that hold the spare up and the parts you take out can be used to make a template for a bracket in the same holes.

Have fun

Thanks, Craig,
I'll check the caravan places; others have mentioned the taste from plastic but not too worried about taste as just need shower, and, in an emergency, I don't think you would care about the taste, hey?
I want to put a chequerplate guard underneath anyway.

A plastic caravan one will do the job, they are available in a variety of sizes, two steel straps to hold it up with a thin sheet of gal to protect it, been used for years under the back of quite a few 60's and 80's.

DougR/DougT ..............

I am considering the same for my Troopy ['92 1HZ75 Series] and also have just taken the rear underchassis liftwinch out....... said space looks good for the tank shown above BUT ...........

having visited the site before, I noticed that all their tanks had the tap projecting well out and at an angle downwards ................ this would have to be a real problem as it is not feasible to extend the stoneguard under the tap, nor is it practical to use a hose fitting without pressurising the tank. Obviously could be done, but fiddly ............

Has anyone yet used these tanks in a similar situation ????? The product themselves look well-made and good quality.

Hey Senor
Vot is you doin'hey

Mate I got the 80ltr inside my Troopy under the bed, it just fit too for height, it sits in there next to the 180ltr fuel tank,, for the tap you don't have to have the tap as in the picture, I run a piece of drink water hose to the rear, through the floor and have a tap at the back and high so it don't get hooked on things, and also mine has the flat part to the bottom

I got one of those water bladders that fit inside the car panel int he wagon bit of my 80 series.
holds 35 liters and is in no danger of ever getting damaged. Easy to fill and use as well.
I got this type because I have a long range fuel tank and it takes up where my spare used to sit.
