Just need to confirm that fuel, petrol, is available at Giles Western Australia.

Giles weather station does not have any public facilities but the Warakuna Roadhouse is about 4/5 kms away and has fuel supplies. Give them a ring to ascertain what they have available. Try (08) 89567344.

Make sure you do a tour of the weather station at Giles. They also have some other things there such Len Beadell's grader and a recovered rocket fired from Woomera. -Steve

Also, Wayne, if you get there at 8.00am (local time) they have the balloon launch which is interesting. Also a guided tour of the establishment. Giles is in WA- but they operate on SA time.

My recollection is that Warakurna had opal unleaded 18 months ago. If not, they have Avgas.

You can also email them:

Phil,

Thank you for the info.

We might have another vehicle on the trip if they can get fuel at Warakurna.

They were serving both flavours back in August. Cheers. Mick
