G'day gang,
I'm back on deck after my "holiday" in the big smoke; flat on my back for 4 days!!! Thanks to all those who gave me their best wishes (and "cheek" in some cases...haha) via Willem's post (which I haven't been able to locate, but which Annette has told me about).
Anyway, I digress.............
I need to get a plug/s for this little 2000lb winch I've got for lifting my spare tyre/s on and off their brackets. The size of the cable on the winch is too narrow to warrant using a 50amp Anderson plug, so I'm looking for the next smaller size in something similar to an Anderson plug.

A year or 2 ago, there was somebody selling such plugs (black and/or red) in the Trader Section on here. I never got around to buying any!!! These are probably the type I'm after, but I don't know their name or designation etc. The cables on the winch actually have crimp-on lugs with yellow insulation (the largest of the usual 3 of this type of connector......red being the smallest, blue the middle size and yellow the largest).

Any advice will be gladly accepted and thanks to everybody in advance.

Cheers

Roachie

Hi Roachie,
Great to hear you are upright again.

The plugs you seek are an Anderson Power Pole, they are I think rated up to about 40 or 45 Amps.
I use them for all my low current 12 volt stuff. Fridges, lights etc, work a treat!

Check out RS or Farnell catalogues (do a Google search) or ask at Dick Smith, or Jaycar. There are dozens of types that would do the job.

Hi Roachie, these are the 30 amp Anderson PowerPoles and will accept up to 5mm auto cable.

You can use 6mm auto cable but you have to trim a few strands off the cable to get it to fit.

Do some snooping as there are some cheap prices for these now.

Thanks again mate,
I did find that post (with Annette's help of course).
My time at the puter desk is limited to short stints (in between having a horizontal rest...lolol), so I'm following doctor's orders and taking it easy. Doctor Molloy said I would never be allowed to do any house work EVER again!!!!! (so in other words, nothing will have to change!!!!!)

G'day Bill, Glad your home and I hope all is well.
You can be rest assured that I would not have made any "cheeky" comments about your current disabilities. LOL
You can read all about it on post no 43231.
I'm sure the list of jobs that Annette has made up for you to do has only grown bigger since you will be home for the next few weeks. You won't be able to do anything on the truck either cos you might just undo the repairs.
Cheers

Des.
