Just wanted to know whether anyone can shed any light on this issue. I have a 80 series cruiser the upgraded arb headlights, the headlights low beam work and my lights work when turn it on but the light in the instrument panel does not work. i did a continuity
test on bulb and the bulb seems to be okay. Could there be any other things that i may have overlook. I took it into a auto sparky to look at something else for me and now i am fixing problems that were not there when it when in. Thanks

Yes, see if you can
check the switch by back probing the plug.
Regards
Derek.

I had a similar issue with my Nissan GQ.
It drove me nuts trying to find the source of the problem. Asked questions here on the
forum and got a million different replies, but in the end I solved it myself.
I had to replace the light switch/indicator stalk as there was a contact problem within the sealed unit at the end of the stalk on the steering column. Sourced one from wreckers in
Melbourne for $100 mind you. They know when they have you by the curlies.
Cheers

I vaguely remember that that was a problem with both 80's and 75's with an aftermarket headlight harness in that the indicator light in the dash no longer worked.
I built my own harness using one of the original headlight sockets to power the new relays with no problems on a troopy.
