Hi Fishaholic
This one is a job for the professionals, trust me.
Take it to someone who does fuel pumps and injectors.
Cheers Steve.

Easy one mate.On the back end of the pump where the injector pipes come in there will be a threaded rod with lock nut on it(if its still factory set it will have a bullet shaped cover over it).Get some one to watch your rpm's and screw it in to lean it off and out to richen it.About a quater of a turn will drop 250rpm off the tacho(did
mine).Cleaned up the smoke(lots) in ours and didnt effect power at all.In fact ours runs smoother and revs crispier(like our weather) than before.

Hi
What he said, easy as. You are only adjusting the fuel flow not changing the pump timing.
Have fun

"screw it in to lean it off and out to richen it" - are you sure??? My manual says turn it in to increase fuel and out to lessen fuel.

The threaded screw has a locknut and a crimped/spot welded sleeve to prevent it being turned further in.
Further in (clockwise) increases fuel, out (antic/w) reduces fuel. Try turning 1/2 to 3/4 turn out for reduced smoke at under load conditions and a 10/15% improvement in fuel economy. You will notice the need to use the gears more, there is a power drop off. Big benefit in keeping the oil cleaner for a longer period though. Did this to
mine whilst quite new. Just back from a 2000km. trip towing a 15' van at 13.8l/100km. Now done 180000km. ('97 mod.)
