I was on Bribie today and saw a burnt out late model Prado today. It had caught fire about 30 min before and was still smoking & burning.
It was a V6 petrol, I was told the fire started in the right rear & was caused by overheated brakes from the Auto Traction Control. It was not much after high tide and the vehicle had been working hard in the soft sand.
No one was injured.

If it is under 2 years old perhaps his insurance company will replace it with a brand new one. Then he can get a new D4D dielsel Prado instead. Lucky man.

Not me Trev, I'm still here :o) There's a group going over to Bribie this Saturday from 4wdmonthly
forum, but I've got too much stuff to do at
home. The only traction control in my Prado is my right foot LOL. Went to Fraser over the Australia day long weekend and had a ball. I had to pull out my two mates more than once over the long weekend, a 100 series and an FJ40 - good fun but. Hows the Blizzard coming along?

Good to hear it wasn't you.
Blizzard is having a nip tuck done as we speak but it is a hard vehicle to lift extremely high (read too expensive LOL) so it will only come up a little for now, but the 31 inch tyres that are going on next monday should help. These are the one's I CHOSE then the diff at the back is getting a CIG LOCKER next week just in time for a landcruiser mtn park gathering on the 31st and 1st. See gatherings page for this one later tonight.
Hope to see you on Sunday for the BBQ at Cabbage Tree Pt.
Regards, Trevor.

Hi Trev, LUV the tyres, they'll do the job and then some! Bugger! I can't make the LMP weekend as we're off to Charlie Morland for the weekend - this will be the 3rd trip I've missed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunatly we can't make the BBQ this weekend either as we've made other plans. We're also putting our house on the market and I've got an armfull of jobs to do on the Saturday, we were going to have a day out at Bribie (Hmph!). Wheelin has to take backstage at the moment (Grrrrrrrrrr). I did take Carolyn out for a couple of hrs in Mt Mee on Sunday. Followed that track we did, where
the big hole was at the btm of the creek, an easy drive back up the
hill to the main trail - a good track in reverse though as the uphill has been chopped up a bit. I let SWMBO drive so it took a while ;o)
