We are away this weekend to give my good steed it's first run in the dirt and really looking forward to seeing Mt Yango NP on the central coast. Got the key today thanks Bedo.
I notice a noise which you can just hear and almost feel like a vibration just as the vehicle comes to a halt, just in the last meter or so, normal braking. I havn't been able to pin it down yet and wonder if its a common occurence, it doesn't sound serious but it's a little annoying. Not sure if it's to do with the diesel or tyres or transmission. Anyone had similar annoyance.

Cocka,
As you mentioned you are running wrangler mud terrains, I have 33" BFG mud terrains on my GQ and get exactly the same thing. It is just the chunky tread pattern making a noise on the bitumen.
Hope this helps,
Mark

Thanks Diamond
I'll be giving the steed a service this week and rotating the tyres so will have a look at this dept. Thanks for thought but I'm wondering how you have ever gone through 50 sets of pads ???? to know how long the glue lasts.
The big GU went
well today and I'm super happy with some of the country I covered, good rugged 4WD stuff. We got right to the top of a great mountain and found a NWPS
ranger working his heart out
clearing scrub and it turns out to be an EO member Jeff. Top stuff.Carpe Diem

Yeah I just saw that somewhere else. I was about to post a Q about shocks and did an archive search and read your good note about the different shock brands, then guessed the answer.
I just bought my GU 2hand (!4000 K) and it has been given a 2"lift and had the XGS shocks fitted, TJM stuff I think. I was wondering about their quality compared to others as I havn't used the gased ones before. At the moment they are great, the GU sits nice and square when cornering under pressure. Carpe Diem
