Recently I posted about problems I've with my generic 12v fridge/freezer, in that the compressor fault light is flashing and the temperature doesn't drop. Following advice recieved and recommendations from forum members I took the unit to Lyons Refrigeration in Welshpool. The outcome is that the unit is not at fault, the fault lies in the power chord which has a 2 pin socket 13mm wide x 8mm high. My problem is where can I get a replacement lead in Perth?

It is a generic, other than that it has a Danfoss compressor and was made in China, there is no brand name. It was purchased from 1Stop Auto accessories andBatteries in Beeliar Drve Success,

You can do a better modification.

Wire a good sized cable direct to the contacts inside the fridge and by-pass the plug / socket.

Regards

Derek.

Thanks Derek. It's probably the best way to go about it, it is a bloody good little fridge& freezer, ideal for w/end trips, and easier to handle than our 80L fridge& freezer combo.

When I fit Engel fridges, I use a 9mmsq double cable soldered directly to the fridge lead. The soldered section is placed in a non moving section say between front and rear seats under the floor covering. Locate leads direct to fridge battery terminals and use a resetting circuit breaker. No voltage drops and will outlast your vehicle.
