Have just fitted a 3 inch OME lift kit to my brothers swb 1990 4.2 diesel nissan. We have found a vibration that wasnt there before and so believe its due to the angle of the drive shafts from the transfer case. Assuming that is the correct assumption we need to fit a spacer kit to drop the case. Any idea how much we need to drop it?

not sure about fitting spacer kits but if i do a lift at work over 2 inch i always recomend at least at the front to fit caster adjust bushes to the front control arm to diff mount to straighten angles a little better also fit it if people want to fit 33 inch tyres if they scrub on full lock cost of bushs fitted and wheel alignment should be about $350.looking foward to easter at jamieson

Do you stay in the caravan park at jamieson. How long have you been going there.

Shorties are notorious for viabrations after lifts... usually you can get away with 3inch!..

Anyway Check the Unis for play/wear, and as Diamond said, Caster kit can do wonders.

Also spacer kit is available, but try these first, or you lose part of the reason for the lift - clearance.

You can lower the gearbox/transfercase down to allow the angle of the shafts to not be as savage.......

Just a flat spacer. I think www.bigballsoffroad.com has them .. Call Liam and ask.

I should add its easier to use caster kits to just turn the diffs to change the angles.

We have dropped the transfer case 20mm (because thats the thickness of the plate that we had sitting in the garage) and bingo, vibration gone. Obviously our assumption was correct. Now no longer of the GQ vibration club!
