The ambos are doing an exersise out here at the moment. Speaking to one of the guys he mentioned that the Service has ordered 50 of the newies (with the V8).
Sooo- there will be about 50 ex- ambo Troopys on the market very soon. Some are only 2-3 yrs old with 20-30000ks (used for exersises only). Most are turbo all are diesel. They've all been serviced and maintained as you would expect.
If your interested- keep your eyes on the govt. auctions.

I bought a 1982 Ford F100 ambulance with 36,000km's on it. It was like new. That was an absolute cracker of a rig. I would not hesitate to buy one again but make sure it doesn't stink of hibiclense(?) the disinfectant as it will not come out. Some do, some don't.

These could be the buy of the century as major yards probably wouldn't touch them due to costs involved in converting back to 'civvie street'.

Nonsense! Balderdash!!! I'll have you know my trouser coughs smell like the fragrance of a thousand heavenly virgins gently sprinkling rose petals upon a sea of Chanel No.5. They sound like a chior of divine angels whispering hymns to the tune of harps............

...........and they sometimes have lumps in them. Hmmmmmmmmm

Looks like it may be time I got a "REAL" 4wd. Had a close look at one while at the fires in the mountains in late Nov last year and thought they would be a good unit. The guys I was with hought that the Ambos would hold on to them for too long. Seems they may have been wrong. I will keep an eye on the auctions.

There's about a dozen here at the moment. All have BullBars- Winches-Snorkels. Some with slider bars. drive lights. And I notice they all have the Sunraysia type wheels (Not the splits).
Also, the coil sprung front ends.

And I think you will find they have Polyair bags over the rear leaf springs.
As you suggest, would be a top prchase.

I know of three people that have bought ex ambo troopies in NSW and all are happy with the purchase, came with Bullbar, towbar, hydraulic winch, driving lights, foglights, sunraysia type rims, aftermarket suspension, piratus seats, additional interior light and a few extra holes where stuff had been removed
