I live in a Van and have a dual TV/Monitor flat screen , It is great because I have 2 in 1 , I don'yt do a lot of travel with it but when I have been on the road I just lay it on the bed and put a Ocky strap over it W530mm X H335mm X D100mm. and it's an LCD Wide Screen, the link is for a TV only

Andrew,

We recently fitted out a new van. I was tempted to buy a lap top with an external TV card. Two in one computer and TV flat screen. I think it would have been about $1100. But the Mrs put paid to that idea. She wanted me to be on holiday not working on a computer screen.

We bought a WINTAL 10.4 inch TFT-LCD Colour TV. 12 volt direct and 240v a/c transformer. Very good piccture. We got it from a Leading edge store for $399.

Whatever you buy get one with a full auto cannel search because you often have to do this at every stop.

Then the next worry is which ariel. We picked up a great one on our travels at Victor Habour SA. $135 including long metal pole and a booster. We threw the our previous ariel (white poles that expand to a Y shape) in the bin once we tried the new one out.

They also do a 15", LXCV1501M. Site doesn't mention that this one is 12 volt, but some reviews on the web say that it is. Worth chasing up.

Ont thing to watch is not to get one that is too big - they are easily knocked of a bench if they stick out over the edge.

If you intend to camp using 12V power look fort one that has a separate 12V power brick as their power supply. DSE, Jaycar etc have power plugs that can be used in making up a 12V lead to use when camped off power.
