Hi All,
Taking a trip along the
great central road next week as far as Warakurna, was going to borrow the old mans 95/ 80 series GXL steel rim second spare to take as my second spare, does anyone no if this will fit my 2004 GU patrol ?
I know stud pattern is the same but someone else's prior experience might save me the trouble of jacking it up to check centre hole and brake clearances etc.

Thanks Hairy, will do. found a wheel
shop that sells second hand sunraiser style rims for around 35 buck, and they will try on before you buy so that might be the go.

Nothing against the advice you get on here as its usually spot on!
Its just too easy to be 100% safe.

I am quite sure that all Nissan stud patterns are the same.
Genuine Landcruiser rims ( apart from generic Speedy rims ) will not fit a GQ stud pattern and therefor not to a GU as
well. But as Hairy says, try it out. If it doesn't work then jusy carry a spare casing.

Thanks Willem,
If it doesn't fit and I can't get one at a reasonable price just the casing will be the go, not that I expect to much trouble with new tyres, but you never know.

Thats interesting John, as they wont fit the GQ and I had to search for Nissan splits. We are talking about splits or are we talking about one rim steels??

Willem, both, I have a set of splits and and a set of normal steel
wheels, both fit, no mods needed. I use them for the wider offset. I can supply pics if you wish, so you can go and look at the wreckers. The splits are the chrome reverse splits. Hope this helps. John

John.....umm no...lol....I have enough
wheels and tyres here in the garage.
1 set Nissan alloys 16x8 with Cooper STT
1 set Speedy steel 16x7 with Eldorado
9 Nissan splits with MRF Crossplies
The Landcruiser centre hole on its split rim is too small for my GQ hub. Speedy's fit both Nissan and Landcruiser.

Mick,
Take the trouble to test fit the rim. Better to do it at home than on the track.
Also check that it will fit on the front and back axle.
Also check if the wheel nuts will fit, especially if the spare is a steel rim and the Nissan are alloy.
Also make sure that the tyre is the same size as what is on the Nissan.

Thanks All for your advice, I certainly will check it myself.
Just tried to buy a rim from the wreckers pretty hard to find, was quoted 440 for a steel rim and tyre, not to keen on that.
New tyres being fitted this morning so have 4 x reasonable casings and spare is still origonal and new.

They don't fit Mick. Stud pattern same but big centre hole is about 2mm to small.
Most aftermarket rims will go , but everyone one says , try them out first - and make sure you check 'em the front
wheels as tighter there.
Sometimes you can get them on back not front.
Important! when checking , operate the brakes as sometimes interference is only noticed when Nissan floating calipers operate.
