Oh ye of little faith! What's worse, Ian said to tell you Doug, is that we bought it through
Birdsville Toyota, so by the time it comes off the boat, goes through Customs, Detailing, then loads on to road train/train etc. the floods come the floods go the roads are repaired and the various cars are dropped off at dealerships on the way, it'll be months and there mighn't be any left!

Congrats Ruth!!! So is it one of these new V8 Diesel beasts?? I've heard that many stories about what power they will have etc etc that I don't know what or who to believe. You would have the brochure for it wouldn't you?? So what is the truth??

Thks Hughesy - oh yes, thks Rock Ape - you answered for me!! Brochure - what brochure! We got called to the dealership on Wednesday and were very excited, thought whacko I'll take a picture for
Forum users to see old fella with his new toy! All they wanted were measurements for tray and canopy! Wanted a blue ute (because old fellas SWMBO hates white cars) so we are getting a white ute (only colour coming off). We saw one at the Motor Show in
Brisbane - the inside looked like the 1988 one we've already got, the front looked like (another brand) and the rest looked like a ute. The engine looked impressive and the fuel consumption is "supposed" to be terrific. Keep you posted.

Hello Ruth
Congratulations.
Is this the new fishing vehicle???....lol
Now you have to buy the Lambswool seatcovers, UHF, HF,(you have a satphone), Fat tyres, CD or MP3 player. I take it thgat it comes with standard Long Range tanks.
When you trade up for another 'car' you should get a good price for the LC 100 as it hasn't done much work...lol...... Only 100 trips to Big Red and back.
Cheers

Oh you! Has CD, 180l
tank - you know we don't use fat tyres in
the Desert - UHF, lambswool covers probably. Yes going fishing as soon as it arrives - we've run out of Diamantina Barra. Don't need to add much - it's a Toyota, not a Nissan.
The LC100 has only done 150,000klm and will probably turn into a "town" car very shortly - you know,
bright colour, automatic, locking everything, shopping in boot instead of through
barn doors, easy
parking and terrifying on the Gateway! (but will keep the UHF so I can learn new words whilst travelling over the Gateway - stops it from being boring when stuck there - especially if the girl if working who lives just near the Gateway and is kind to old truck drivers!)

Congratulations to you both on the new arrival. Am sure you will have some fun with it even though I can see it off fishing a lot. Look forward to an inventive shot in the rig pic.........

Hey there Ruth witht the new Toyota ..yes the parcel arrived with the spring thaw :) We did write..guess Aust Customs don't like polar bears ... No real plan..
well there is..
Perth to
Camooweal to have a beer with a mate there then thought maybe go see the new Toyota..then sit and watch the tides at
Cape Leveque. Much depends on the end of the wet obviously.
Just the usual wandering around the great land :)

Didn't the spring thaw just happen now? We're supposed to be in autumn/fall and still putting a/c on during the day! Princess Minniewonka loved her trip down here - she must be used to long distance travel now. Darn Customs - maybe the polar bears snapped at them.
Well the itinerary sounds like normal - we should be able to meet up somewhere in the great outdoors.

Trevor, wouldn't that be fun. No, next Sunday we'll be at the
Rathdowney Heritage Festival looking at really old cars, bullock teams, woodchopping etc. etc. and having a good time - walking!
