At the
Perth caravan show both aerial systems were on show.
TV is not a major for us..apart from news/weather etc.Has anyone had any experience with
1) Easy Tune Antenna....remote controlled, 360 rotating...$159.00.
2) itech portable satelite system, $330-$499.
I'd prefer to use an easy tune or any other system forumites find OK,..than invest is a satelite system...however as the sat system isprobably a lot better?....it may be the best option.
Any comments
Cheers Gerard and Anne.
(ps.I hope I have done enough research on this to keep Willem happy)

Hi Gerard and Anne
On a few caravan forums that I haunt there hasnt been a lot of good reports about the easy tune. Keep in mind too that with normal type arieals like the easytune you have to within range of the transmitters. I myself have decided to go satellite as you can then get tv anywhere you can see the sky. You dont have to in range of the transmitters.
When I hit the road I will only use tv for news, weather and the eagles and dockers games.

Thanks mate...I guess I was hoping to save a few bucks...there's so much to buy when you are in another country, so far from all your own tried and tested gear..
Eagles and Dockers...hasn't that changed to Druggies and Dockers?..oops.
Actually I prefer the All Blacks and Wallabies.
Cheers

Gerard we bought a cheap digital set top box & these are so easy to set up most times you don't even need a to put up the antennae.
Bob.
ps, best if you get a 12/240 volt.

Hi Gerard and Anne
Re Easy Tune Antenna - Dont waste your money, do more research.
I purchased one last year (cost little less than they are now) thinking it was the answer to my prayers - I think not - They are not a quality product.
The four little telescopic pieces at the end are simple indoor rabit ear quality and will hardly stand up to various climatic conditions.
Mine all but ceased up after using no more than 4 times, and the 360deg rotating (via remote),
well it only every moved in the one direction. I also found a lot of ghosting/snow when tuning the TV (on
Gold Coast and TV reception is pretty reasonable there).
Only decent thing about it was the packaging - Easy for storing in van.
My Easy Tune has since made its way into the wheely bin!
After reading through caravan
forum I purchased a a Digimax Explorer antenna and Kingray (MHW34F) masthead amplier from Jarcar Electronics.
From what I've seen/read, I think this will blow anything else out of the water
(so to speak)
Havent used the Digimax yet, but will next month when we go away.
Am not comparing to any Sat System either - They would be great, if I could justity the expense. After all is watching TV all that important - not really.
Good luck with your endeavours
Cheers
Leigh
