Given the popularity, on this forum, of posts pertaining to any aspect of fridges I thought the following device may be of interest to many - it's a new product for Jaycar:

Chill out Bilbo :)

Not doing well in Vic, Bilbo, might hassle you for some locations if I decide to take a few weeks off and head west. Mind you... haven't been out much over summer either but it's cooling down now so time to hit the gold country again :)

PS. Just don't marry one Bilbo (Autofridge, that is :)

Good one Mike,
I have a similar device I got from tricky dicky some time ago.
I rekon you'd be crazy to run afridge without one, and the price is right on this one.

My themo let me konw I had problems with the fridges earth connection - well before all the food got to hot.

A themometer does not have to be 100% accurate, you just have to learn its readings for normal operation for you fridge with your choice of sensor placement.

Paul.
p.s. I rekon Jaycar's a top shop.

Thanks Mike,

have seen these before and it is a brillant idea for both home and of course to use with car fridge. Helps with the frozen salads etc. from a females prospective.

Debbie,

Don't panic, when the salad freezes you still have a fair way to go before the beer follows suit.

It is sort of nature's way of saying you are getting close though and, in the absence of a temperature gauge, should be taken as a warning.

Matt,

Thanks I will keep that in mind for next time, trust a male to use common sense aye. The obvious was just there waiting to take the bait. I do like your method of thinking though thanks.

Debbie,

Sorry, couldn't resist.

We just got back from 6 months away and more than once I was in trouble for frozen soggy lettuce at the expense of beer and meat. We did find that wrapping lettuce in a few sheets of newspaper and trying to avoiding contact with the sides of the fridge did help.

Some veges and salad gear survives getting a bit frozen. But, as you would know, lettuce isn't one of them.

Cheers,

Matt.
