One of the smaller BP servo's did say some of the Larger BP chains have ethanol added, not sure if this would make a difference.

It is illegal to blend more than 5% biodiesel and not tell the consumer.

It is only going to make a marginal difference, although it should improve the efficiency of your burn and keep your fuel system and engine a little cleaner.

There is a SAFF at Tailem Bend that sells B100 (100% Biodiesel) ... I don't know Red Roo ... where are they? Is that the servo on a hill heading down into one of those towns on the Melb side of Horsham - I think Ararat?

Cheers
Andrew.

Cheapest brand name diesel we got last month was at BP Ballan, between Ballarat and Melbourne, off the side of the freeway. Was $1.19 per litre.

As far as I know the Roo ( in Beaufort) sells only standard fuel there, and along with Bp Ballan are definately the cheapest on average.
Enjoy the trip.

Hi Chips59,
My mate is a truckie who uses plenty of diesel every day and swears that his truck runs better and more efficiently on BP than any other brand.
Cheers Mark

Mark,
I think the same with my LandCruiser. I've now changed to BP, and disregarded any fuel discounts.

Been using Freedom ultra diesel in Brisbane with 20% biodiesel.
No difference in fuel consumption. Right foot makes more difference.

Different brands have different cetane ratings. Shell & BP are the better ones at about 52, Caltex is about the worse.

Yes, not all Biodiesels are interesting too ... depends on what they are made with as to what qualities they will have.

One thing you can say, is that they are all renewable and frequently "carbon neutral" - isn't that an oxymoron ;-)

Not all BP is equal ... it depends on where it comes from, and not always a BP refinery ... for instance, in SA, most of the companies get their fuel from the same tanks.
