Hi all
I have searched the threads (I know i have seen it somewhere before) but for some reason can't find the answer.
What have people done when they have fitted 265/70/17 to 120 series prado so the spare fits? Toyota have fitted them for my newie which i pick up Saturday but are unwilling to make a spacer for me due to warranty issues. Is there an off the shelf spacer or do i make something out of teflon? If so how thick does the spacer need to be?
Cheers
Terry

See my info in post 43066. Thread 43066
Another guy I know just made some spacers out of large washers at the back of the spare wheel holder (as opposed to where the spare wheel holder meets the back of the door).

I thought the plastic chopping board was the good stuff - and comes in a range of colours :-)

I had a set of spacers put on when I had the Micky T's MTZ fitted to my 120 Give Darren at total traction a call down at Lonsdale SA. I was vey in pressed with the space as it spread the load acrross the baracket and the door alike not just sticking out on some washers. the spacer went between the door and the wheel bracket.
The tyre she no rubb

A Dozen 14mm flat washers will do the trick.
4 over each of the 3 studs will space the spare out enough
Available at any hardware store...
should cost about 60 cents.

Yep the flat washers work
well. Toyota have stated that they will not cover warranty for the back door if it cracks due to the weight being placed out about 10mm!!! They are also worried that the BFG weigh more than standard.
I have copped it....but really if they are built that close to tolerances these days I'm a bit worried!
