Gday ALL
I have had my CF-80 replaced under warranty due to surface rust appearing in various
places six or so months ago. I have just noticed on the new fridge it seems to be happening again but at this stage not as bad. When I received the replacement I polished it & have looked after it. I live In
Cairns at the beaches & never leave it outside.
I am wondering if anyone else has had the same problem & what I can do to prevent it. The fridge is under warranty but I am concerned it is going to happen again if it is replaced.
Cheers Mark

So far nothing of the sort with my CF 110... It's been rained on a couple of times, spent a bit but not lots of time at
the beach and after a couple of years, no rust...

Hi Steve
The rust is`nt that bad yet but is located on back in a cpl of spots, center & bottom right.
The 1st fridge that was replaced was all over the front & worst around where the metal meets the plastic strip at the bottom of the fridge.

Isn't the air at beaches laden with a certain amount of salt
water ? If so, it would be in your house and shed as
well - can't stop it. A lot of stingy manufacturers will save a few cents in manufacturing by using metals with very poor corrosion resistance....... eg.....parts of my new pool filtering system at home are going rusty within 12 months.
