Hi Peter
You may have to divert once you get on the Oxley Hwy as Inlet road has been blocked for some time now not far from the
Birdwood Rd. It appears local landowners have dropped massive trees across Inlet rd in a cunning move to prevent anyone from passing. The trees are in a position that makes it near impossible to go around. The perpetrator's of this deed have no consideration for people that need to use this road. Perhaps there is some activity that some would call unlawful going on in the area.

Thanks for this. Is the inlet road North of the Oxley Highway? Our initial plans do not see us going past this point.
As to the issue of trees, maybe all of us carrying chainsaws might help. I think they'll run out of trees before we run out of blades.

VK2US,
are you only going as far as the Oxley or continuing as teh trek indicates??? I used to live in Clarro, in Duke street and tehn in Fotheringay rd. We use to travel up to the Oxley the way on teh trek and many others, some excellent country up in there.

Toytruck....
Our plans are to stop when we get to the Oxley Highway and stay at
Twin Falls at Ellenborough.
Was curious as to the trek as there are a few comments about bridges being out and such so a recent review would help.
As it is to be the long weekend we need to get the planning out of the way ASAP so we don't loose out on accommodations.

Peter,
I'm not going to post surnames on this thread but have visited your web site and have a question.......do you know Paul Vern..........I used to work with him at ADI in
Newcastle and I think at last contact Paul had moved to a position a the RAAF Base Williamtown????
I am unable to give you a rescent update as I have not lived in Clarro since 2002, now living in the Barossa Valley however, have been in the Oxley area many times since, the most rescent being last Christmas. I would not be to concerned with bridges being out of order as generally you will be able to get around. I would certainly recommend that a GPS with mapping software like Ozi Explorer would be of great value as it will give you the tracks you need when looking for an alternate route.
There are some fantastic tracks all through that area and you could spend weeks in there. We used to explore it all on motorbikes before I had a licence and of course 4by afterwards.
