I own a Hyundai Sante Fe 4.2 ltr manual and need to know what sort of caravan it is capable of towing any help would be appreciated

It's proberly capable of towing most size vans. What you have to look at is the draw bar weight and tow ball weight.
I have seen one with an 18 footer in tow.

Have you checked the manual?
The Hyundai website says 2000/750kg, max towball weight 150kg for both the 2.7 petrol and the 2.2 diesel.

Also check the tow bar to see what it is rated - it should have a plate fixed onto it. Some towbars can only take 1200kg. You may have to buy a higher rated one.

By the way, they only come with 2.7 litre petrol or 2.2 litre Diesel. Not a 4.2 litre as stated.
Hyundai Aust. site states maximum towing as 2000 kg braked and 750 kg un-braked

it has a 4.2l holden 253 transpant which has been engineered.

Its all in the handbook !!!! When you buy a 4x4, you read the handbook ?? Don't you ?? Not trying to be nasty, but its all there ??
Maybe its just me, but I would have researched all that before I bought something !!

Hi Gronk thanks for the very helpful hint some people when they buy a 4x4 dont think about towing they just want a safer car and yes I read the handbook but it is handy to have a better idea of what you can tow

I'd tend to trust the handbook and the dealers advice than someone on an internet
