Sounds like bullpoo to me, might have a crook security module?
Sometimes cars sit for months in dealers yards before being sold, can imagine what they would be doing if they went flat after a fortnight.
You haven't added any accessories that might be causing the problem?

Hi Robin
Lately some brands of electric brake controllers have been known to draw power down & flatten batteries, had this recently happen on a friends new 100 series T/D took bloody ages to find & the dealers were next to useless???
Just a thought it, could be something to consider if you have one fitted.
Cheers Steve

Had the same problem with the battery in my D40, nissan must have got a bad batch of batteries, I replaced mine with a bigger battery but took the original into nissan which was replaced under warranty, this battery is now just sitting in the garage as a spare.
As a warning , do not leave the D40 or Pathy in 4x4 and end up with a flat battery, which happened to me while camping on the beach for a week as the computer gets confused and does not know what position the transfer case is in and will not allow you to select 2wd. In the end the only way I could fix it was to remove the electric actuator motor on the tfer case and manually put it back into 2wd refit the actuator. So now I never leave it parked in anything but 2wd.

Thanks Cris and Debbie are you sure that leaving the D40 in 4 wheel drive was the problem could you test your battery and leave the D40 stand for a week and see how far down your battery has gone I have a bigger battery but stills goes flat if I leave it for more than about 10 days NOT in 4wheel drive Robin T

Sorry Robin you may have mis-understood what was written.
The Battery used to go flat after a few days (nothing to do with 4WD) but I have not had a problem since the new battery was fitted.
The part about 4WD was just a warning about not leaving the vehicle in 4WD and letting the battery go flat as you will end up with the problem stated.
