Was just watching a show called Down to Earth on ABC, It featured a couple named Brian and Nerida Egan who were farmers, he lost his farm to the drought, hit rock bottom and decided to try to help others in an effort to emotionally help himself. So they started thrift shops to raise money and also via donations now deliver food, presents, stock feed etc to farmers who need the help because of what the drought has done. And also enlists homeless youth from the city to go out bush and work the land with the farmers. He is based out of Charleville in Qld, and they intend to expand so they can help australia wide.
Mate, what a bloke! what he has done now is wonderful!

These farmers are out there living day to day in the outback that we go and travel through, visit etc. Not all of us are rolling in cash to hand out but as one whole unit, another aussie website what can we do to help them? How can we all raise money for them, get stock feed etc etc..
There has to be something we can all do to help them help the farmers.
Cheers
Jo

Yep, saw it on Australian Story earlier this week. Brian and Nerida are real salt of the earth characters.

Hi M & J

What a possitive way for Brian to turn things around.
I also saw last weeks show and agree with you, we all should pitch in in some way.
Coles and Woolworths have "gift" cards as a lot of other big stores do Bunnings and so on and of course a money/cheque donation.

Here's another way of helping our farmers. So many crates are 'stolen' or discarded and end up in landfill
