It's only got a hundred kms on it so far but the power is unbelieveable ! It's so much more "torqy" than the '04 diesel I had. It's also the quietest diesel I've heard for a while.
The gearbox must also be different from the previous model as the revs at 100 kms sit on 2000 rpm, the previous model was just under 3000. Should be a bit better with fuel.
The rear chassis has been strengthened and "cross braced" at the rear. The brakes are bigger, probably to cope with the increased towing capacity of 3000 kgs.
The seats are slightly larger and more comfortable than the previous model also.
I gotta go for another drive !
Pat

Good to hear. I am very interested on how the fuel consumption compares. Have they increased interior space because from what I can see it looks the same as the old model from the headlights back? (Other than the wheel arches).
Cheers

G'day Mark, Interior room seems to be the same as the previous model. I've sat in the back of Navara's, Tritons etc. and there is more room in the rear of the Rodeo, one of the reasons I went that way.
The dash layout and instruments have changed but the rest seems similar, apart from the front seats, which are slightly larger.
Cheers
Pat

You know it's funny GMH could have a confirmed sale that they wouldn't need to chase up, I'd gladdly go to them if only that engine was in a space cab pick 4x4 Rodeo.
Cheers,
Dion

Hi Dion, You're correct. I just checked the brochure and they don't do a 4x4 in the space cab pickup. I had not notice that before.

Good on you Pat
Mine is three weeks away yet, looking forward to it.
The box is different. had to be beefed up to cope with extra torque. Apparantly it's why they de-tuned the auto version as they auto they had availble would not cope.
Like you I was sold on that motor though.
