Hi Davoe, will be at Jaurdi stn over
Easter with Rick and hope to poke around a few tracks in the area if time allows, [might be a bit busy eating, drinking and relaxing]. Im hoping to do a bit of a reccy of the area for a future run.
Always wanted to have a beer at the infamous
Ora Banda pub.
Do you know of any tracks from Jaurdi to OB. I was in Midland yesterday and hit every place I could think of looking for a detailed map of the area. The best I got offered was "Gregorys
Perth Street Directory"!!!!!
Davoe or anyone else that can advise me on where to go for a decent map or has driven this area, your input would be greatly appreciated.
Regards............Lionel.

yes there is kinda. The map book you are after is the QPA maps and tracks of western Australia found in most good newsagents and other spots. Even better are the 250k maps which are available from the map and chart
shop.
The track heads from near jaurdi to the
Coolgardie north about 30km Nth of
rowles lagoon which is not far from
Ora banda (recently reopened-again) road via some
granite rocks and old soaks.
It is easy going although a bit slow. masses of tracks around jaurdi/wallangine soak may make it hard to pick up at first (I got a bit lost in this area)

Try the Chart and Map
Shop in Collie St Freo. They have the Auslig maps in 250K and 100K and should also have the Quality Press (yellow in colour) map books as Davoe mentioned. Call first.
If you're near Midland you should be able to get the 250K's from the DLI (used to be DOLA).
Do you have a GPS? Very, very good things to have IMHO.

Well that's another use of govvie funds and resources that will help me sleep
well at night. Wonder what the new stationary printing costs alone were on that little exercise?
A bi-annual departmental name change. Good thinking Carp's,
well done.
